Description
The Biobank of the Regional Referral Multiple Sclerosis Center (BB-CRESM, AOU San Luigi Gonzaga, Orbassano, Turin) is the first institutional biobank in Italy focused on Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and other neurological and autoimmune diseases. The availability of biological samples, collected and stored according to strict quality standards, is a key resource for biomedical and translational research. It plays a crucial role in advancing our understanding of disease mechanisms and in identifying biomarkers for diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment response. The BB-CRESM is responsible for collecting, processing, storing, and distributing human biological samples, along with associated demographic, clinical, and biological data, from both MS patients and healthy individuals. It ensures the quality of selection, collection, and biobanking processes. The samples and associated data are made available to researchers from the CRESM, the National Health Service, research centers, universities, and private entities/organizations with research purposes in the field of neurological and autoimmune diseases, with a particular focus on Multiple Sclerosis.
