Description
In order to regulate the collection, storage and use of human biological samples and associated data on diseases of interest and their follow-up, the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital has established a biobank called the Biological Resources Center (CRB) composed of a Liquid Biobank and a Tissue Biobank. The biological samples stored at the CRB include peripheral blood and bone marrow blood (cells, serum and plasma), biological liquids including urine, saliva and feces and tissue samples, left-overs of diagnostics in the field of oncological diseases (liquid tumors and solid tumors), infectious diseases, neurological diseases, autoimmune and immune-mediated diseases. Within the hospital of which it is an essential part, the CRB is a non-profit service unit, which in full respect of the rights of the subjects involved, manages the collection, acceptance and registration, processing, conservation and distribution of samples human biological and associated data to support translational research and clinical trials in compliance with ISO 20387 requirements and GCP/GCLP.
