Description
The Humanitas BRC consists of an Oncology Biobank, a Hematology Biobank and an Inflammation and Autoimmunity Biobank where samples from participants affected by CDIP and MMN are stored. In many cases samples are collected longitudinally and follow up data are also available. Within the CRB there are also collections of samples taken as part of specific projects such as a screening for early diagnosis of lung cancer or in the context of innovative therapies in the oncology-hematology field. The samples can be used both by Humanitas researchers and those belonging to other national or foreign institutions for non-profit studies: to access samples you can contact the BRC Manager attaching a copy of the research project and the available documentation. The Scientific Technical Committee evaluates the projects and authorizes the release on the basis of the scientific value of the project in terms of importance of the scientific hypothesis for the subsequent implications on diagnosis, prognosis, therapy, prevention of the pathology(s) of interest, originality and sustainability of the project, competitiveness of the research.
