Description

The Biobank of the National Institute for Infectious Diseases “L. Spallanzani” IRCCS is a non-profit service unit that collects, preserves, and distributes biological material and associated data for research and diagnosis, adhering to quality standards and ethical regulations. It stores high-quality samples such as blood, cells, tissues, and biological fluids, used for scientific research and the development of new therapies. Samples are collected with patient consent and handled according to strict quality and biosafety standards. The Biobank is certified UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 and is part of the BBMRI-ERIC network. Samples are stored at -80°C or in liquid nitrogen and are constantly monitored. Requests for samples for scientific studies must be approved and justified, ensuring compliance with ethical and privacy regulations.
