Marche Biobank is a non-profit biobank primarily focused on rare diseases. In full respect of the rights of the individuals involved, it provides services for the collection, storage, processing, and distribution of characterized biological samples and associated data, in accordance with established quality standards, for scientific research purposes. Marche Biobank is led by a public-private partnership involving the Universities of Urbino (UNIURB), Camerino (UNICAM), and Marche Polytechnic University (UNIVPM), together with the companies DIATHEVA, DIATECH Pharmacogenetics, and MIVELL. These partners combine complementary and essential scientific and industrial expertise to foster sustainable research capable of rapidly delivering safer and more effective medical products, while addressing gaps and removing barriers to the development of therapeutic options for the rarest conditions worldwide. Thanks to Marche Biobank, every patient and every citizen can contribute to a research project by donating their biological material, helping to accelerate change in the diagnosis and treatment system. Marche Biobank’s facilities and processes protect and enhance the unique and valuable link between each sample and its associated data, while safeguarding the participant’s privacy. Marche Biobank is a facility within the Heal Italia network and the Ancona Center for Precision Medicine.
